Nandipha Yanta born (1999) in Johannesburg, South Africa is an artist that is currently studying a Bachelor of Art in Fine Art at the University of Witwatersrand. Her body of work is situated around the self-representation and visibility of black women with the incorporation of self-care and healing. The body of work is also situated around the upending of Western standards of beauty. Her primary medium is painting. She has exhibited her work at the GAEA Fashion show which is an organization which gives South African artists, fashion designers and musicians a platform to establish their brands. She has exhibited at the Joburg Fringe as well as the Point of Order. Nandipha is also the founder of her own magazine called NYON magazine which is a magazine that gives black women and women of colour a platform to choose their own narratives and represent themselves by telling their own stories.
