I am a final year Fine Art student and founder of NYONÂ Â currently studying at the University of Witwatersrand. My body of work consists of the self-representation of Black women with the incorporation of self-care and healing.

About
Nandipha Yanta born (1999) in Johannesburg, South Africa is an artist and a Wits Fine Art graduate as well as a Visual Studies Master's student at the University of Pretoria. Her body of work is situated around the self-representation and visibility of black women with the incorporation of self-care and healing. The body of work is also centred around the upending of Western standards of beauty. Her primary medium is painting. She has exhibited her work at the GAEA Fashion show which is an organisation that gives South African artists, fashion designers and musicians a platform to establish their brands. She has exhibited at the Joburg Fringe, Decorex, and the Point of Order. One of Nandipha's significant achievements was being selected as the Design Indaba Emerging Creative in 2022. Nandipha is also the founder of her own magazine called NYON magazine which is a magazine that gives black women and women of colour a platform to choose their own narratives and represent themselves by telling their own stories.
